Korea’s nuclear power generation capacity of 20,716MW is 35times the capacity it had in 1978, when Kori Unit 1, Korea’s first nuclear power plant, entered into commercial operation(587MW). In a short period of time, Korea has grown to become the world’s fifth-largest nuclear powerhouse.
